6 Marine Parade, on one of Towradgi’s most sought after streets (which rarely come to market) has sold at online auction this month for a new suburb record of $4.53 million.
The auction was well attended online, with 144 viewers, and 9 groups registering to bid on the home. Auctioneer Damien Cooley took a $4.15 million opening bid on the home, which has been in the same family for 50 years. Three parties battled it out and bidding reached $4.41 million after 11 bids. Two bidders then went head to head for a further 15 bids before the property sold for a record price of $4.53 million - substantially above the reserve price set by the owners.
Selling agent Darren Kay said “the attraction was the size of the block; the block is dead level, directly across the road from the beach”.
The auction attracted interest from multiple parties from the Illawarra area as well as Sydney based prospective buyers, both the under bidder and the purchaser were local buyers.
“To the best of my knowledge, the successful bidder will be knocking the property down and building their dream home” said Darren. For more details on this sale contact Darren Kay on 0411 187 768 or Nicole Kay on 0411 669 920.
